I’ve managed to complete a few more quilty things. I made a wall hanging for our family room and also a scissors holder. I liked the scissors holder so much I made some for my friends.

One of my favorite online quilt shops is Shabby Fabrics. They started a Wool Mug Rug series in February and I hopped right on. They are small quick projects using Sue Spargo stitches and I’ve fallen in love with them.
I’ve managed to finish a few wool appliqué projects this year. I took a class a few years ago and decided to pull it out and finish. After I got started I couldn’t stop.
Primitive Gathering’s class I took from Lisa Bongean a few years ago – finished and Mother’s Day present!

I want to create some small quilty projects this year so I have been making the free patterns that Pat Sloan puts out each month for her Button Club. They are smaller wall hangings that fit perfectly on the door of my antique bookcase that I store my antique quilts. They are each embellished with buttons. I started in January and have managed to make one each month.
April – her’s had a coffee cup on it. I don’t drink coffee so I did my own appliqué.
I like to try to make something patriotic every year. This 1/2 square triangle quilt I saw thumbing through the latest issue of McCalls Quick Quilts caught my eye. I also am getting LOTS of use out of one of my Bloc-Loc rulers. I can’t imagine doing this quilt without it. I might just get this finished before Memorial Day!
We sold our Maverick and bought an X3 RC. It’s BEAUTIFUL and a real beast! We were able to take it out for it’s inaugural trip to finally get it dirty!
Love my view!
We were pounded with sleet for hours this weekend. Ended up with several inches – not a fun time! The few green things that had popped up around our house looked pretty with the snow surrounding them but I’m not so sure they will survive!
We had some amazing February weather and were able to get on the bike for a dinner ride. We wrapped up and took off. It was in the high 50’s/low 60’s and perfect. We rode past many snow piles. Hopefully we can get out again soon!
